World Music Views has confirmed that Jamaican dancehall superstar Popcaan, whose given name is Andrae Sutherland, has secured a United States visa.

The development is a significant breakthrough for the entertainer, popularly known as the “Unruly Boss,” who has built a strong international following through his music, collaborations and influence on the global dancehall scene.

With the visa secured, Popcaan could now have greater opportunities to perform in the United States, giving American fans who have long supported his music the chance to experience his electrifying stage performances firsthand.

The milestone also comes as the entertainer prepares to release a new album, signalling what could be an exciting new chapter in his career.

Reacting to the development, Popcaan’s sister and team member, Annalecia “Unruly Squid” Sutherland, expressed excitement about what lies ahead.

“We’re so happy for Pops. This is a huge moment in his career, and we’re excited about the doors this will open for him and the team. He’s putting in the work for the album, which will be dropping soon, and there’s so much more to come. The fans can stay tuned because we’re just getting started!” she said.

Popcaan has established himself as one of dancehall’s most internationally recognised acts, with a catalogue of hits and collaborations that have helped introduce Jamaican music to audiences across the world.

His ability to access the American market more freely could create additional opportunities for live performances, promotional appearances and collaborations, while further strengthening dancehall’s presence on the international stage.

For the wider Jamaican entertainment industry, the development represents another opportunity for dancehall to expand its global reach, particularly in the United States, one of the world’s largest music markets.

Popcaan is the only Jamaican act to debut on the Billboard 200 albums chart this decade and the only Jamaican act to to debut in the Hot 100 this year.

No shows have been announced and the deejay is said to be working on a new album. For now, fans will be watching closely to see what the dancehall star has planned for his next chapter.
