This week, Legend: The Best Of Bob Marley & The Wailers rises to No. 64 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, climbing seven spots from last week at No. 71. The album has now spent 943 weeks on the Billboard 200, the most for any Jamaican album in chart history and the second longest in Billbaord 200 history.
Originally released in 1984, Legend debuted on the Billboard 200 at No. 168 during the week of August 18, 1984. Since then, the compilation album reached its peak position of No. 5 on the Billboard 200 in September 2014.
In addition to its success on the Billboard 200, Legend continues to dominate the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. The compilation has now spent a remarkable 335 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 (336 total) on the chart week ending June 20.
American reggae band Stick Figure, with three of its albums, has accumulated 961 combined weeks on Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart.
World On Fire ranks No. 4 with 354 weeks on the chart, Wisdom sits at No. 7 with 195 weeks and Set In Stone holds the No. 9 position with 412 weeks. All three albums peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart.
Elsewhere on the Chart Best Of Shaggy: Boombastic Collection stays at No. 2 (366 weeks). Sean Paul has Trinity at No. 3 (171 weeks) and Dutty Rock at No. 8 (319 weeks).
UB40’s Greatest Hits charts at No. 5 (395 weeks) and Exodus by Bob Marley and The Wailer rounds out the chart at No. 10 with 137 weeks.
