Jay-Z Set to Headline 2027 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Hip-hop mogul and music icon Jay-Z is preparing to take center stage at one of the biggest entertainment events in the world. The legendary rapper has been announced as the headliner for the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show, scheduled for February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

The highly anticipated performance will mark another major milestone in the career of the Brooklyn-born superstar, who has spent three decades shaping hip-hop and influencing global music culture.

“From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey,” Jay-Z said in a statement. “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”

The announcement follows a massive year of celebrations honoring Jay-Z’s 30-year musical legacy. Under the banner “Jay-Z 30,” the rapper performed at the Roots Picnic, delivered three sold-out concerts at Yankee Stadium and took his music overseas with appearances in Paris and London.

His anniversary celebrations also included the eight-part documentary series Jay-Z in 8, featuring conversations with legendary producer Rick Rubin about the music and creative process behind his influential catalog.

Jay-Z recently wrapped up his international run with two performances at SoFi Stadium, featuring appearances from Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, DJ Khaled, John Legend, Scarface, Too Short and his daughter Blue Ivy Carter.

For years, Jay-Z has played an influential role behind the scenes of the Super Bowl Halftime Show through Roc Nation’s partnership with the NFL. Now, the music executive is preparing to step into the spotlight himself.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell expressed excitement about the announcement, revealing that he had long hoped to see Jay-Z perform at the event.

Apple Music executives also praised the rapper’s extraordinary contribution to music and entertainment, describing his upcoming performance as a major cultural moment.

The 2027 show follows Bad Bunny’s celebrated 2026 halftime performance, which attracted an average audience of 128.2 million viewers and earned seven Emmy Awards.

With an extensive catalog featuring classics such as “Empire State of Mind,” “99 Problems,” “Hard Knock Life” and “Run This Town,” Jay-Z has no shortage of hits to deliver a memorable halftime spectacle.

Fans will undoubtedly be watching to see whether the performance includes surprise appearances from some of his longtime collaborators.

The Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show is scheduled for February 14, 2027.
