Dancehall star Mavado has secured his first United Kingdom music certification, with his 2012 single When U Feel Lonely, produced by Daseca Productions, earning Silver status in the British market.
According to the British Photographic Industry, When U Feel Lonely has achieved Silver status in the United Kingdom, signifying 200,000 qualifying units through sales and streaming equivalents as measured by the Official Charts Company.
The achievement comes nearly 14 years after the song’s original release in 2012 through Daseca Productions.
The song has since found a new audience, particularly in the United Kingdom, following the emergence of a viral mashup by London-based DJ and producer djcassuk.
The remix, titled addicted to you, combines elements of Mavado’s When U Feel Lonely with the vocal hook from American singer and producer Ryan Leslie’s 2009 R&B recording Addiction.
The combination of dancehall and R&B resonated with listeners across social media, introducing the Jamaican recording to a younger generation while rekindling interest among longtime fans.
Before receiving an official commercial release, the mashup had already climbed to No. 8 on the UK Shazam chart and was approaching 200,000 social-media creations, according to promotional information issued in June.
Its growing popularity prompted an official release on June 12, 2026, credited to djcassuk and Mavado through Columbia Records under Sony Music Entertainment UK.
