Kanye West has received 70 new and upgraded RIAA certifications in one of the most extensive single-day updates to his catalogue, spanning six studio albums, 60 solo singles and four collaborations with Jay-Z on Watch the Throne.
Among the albums receiving RIAA certification updates are The College Dropout, Graduation, 808s & Heartbreak, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Yeezus and the Grammy-winning gospel album Jesus Is King.
The RIAA also certified or upgraded a wide range of West’s biggest hits. Classics including Gold Digger, Stronger, Heartless, Can’t Tell Me Nothing, Good Life, Flashing Lights, Through the Wire, All Falls Down, Touch the Sky, Love Lockdown and Runaway were among the songs recognised.
Tracks from nearly every era of West’s career were included in the update. His 2010 masterpiece My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy saw songs such as All of the Lights, Dark Fantasy and Devil in a New Dress receive certification updates, while Yeezus added recognitions for Bound 2, New Slaves, Send It Up and I’m In It.
His later work also featured prominently, with certifications for Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1, Famous, Saint Pablo, Feedback, Ghost Town, 24, Praise God, Life of the Party, Heaven and Hell, Jonah, No Child Left Behind and Remote Control.
West’s collaborative catalogue also received renewed recognition. Four songs from Watch the Throne—Ni**as in Paris, Otis, Who Gon Stop Me and H•A•M—were certified or upgraded, highlighting the continued commercial success of his landmark partnership with Jay-Z.
One of the day’s notable milestones came with I’m In It, which earned Gold certification more than 13 years after its release. The track, featuring Justin Vernon and Jamaican deejay Agent Sasco (credited as Assassin), marks Vernon and Sasco’s first RIAA-recognised certification as a credited artist.
