Dancehall heavyweight Masicka continues to make his mark on the international music scene, with his album Forever Reign recording impressive global streaming figures, according to Luminate data.

The album has accumulated 62.9 million global streams of which 38.3 million are weighted global stream equivalents since its release, across digital music platforms.

The figures also include 26.3 million equivalent streams, a weighted measurement that accounts for differences between premium subscription streams, ad-supported plays and digital song purchases.

The figures represent different ways of measuring the album’s consumption. The 62.9 million streams reflect actual song plays across reported streaming platforms, including both paid subscription and free, ad-supported services.

Masicka is setting his sights on music’s biggest stage, with three submissions for consideration at the prestigious Grammy Awards.

The Jamaican entertainer has submitted projects across three categories: Best Reggae Album, Best Global Music Performance, and Best Music Video, marking another significant step in his international music career.

Leading the submissions is his Def Jam project Forever Reign, which has been put forward for consideration in the Best Reggae Album category.

In the Best Global Music Performance category he submits “Slip & Slide,” a collaboration with acclaimed Jamaican producer and recording artiste Di Genius.

Meanwhile, the music video for “Boasty” has been submitted for consideration in the Best Music Video category.
